ISETAN DINING
A moment to unwind in the city.
Perched on the restaurant floor of Isetan Shinjuku, ISETAN DINING offers a versatile menu of customizable Western combination plates, Kagoshima Kurobuta tonkatsu, and grilled steaks.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Dining on a department store's restaurant floor comes with an easy sense of comfort, allowing everyone to follow their own cravings. Located on an upper floor of Isetan Shinjuku, ISETAN DINING provides a welcoming space serving everything from beloved yoshoku—Japanese-adapted Western cuisine—to traditional multi-dish gozen sets in a relaxed atmosphere.
For lunch or dinner, the combination plates are a popular draw. Guests can select their favorites for a two- or three-item combination plate, choosing among juicy hamburg steaks, crisp deep-fried prawns, creamy crab croquettes, bubbly macaroni and shrimp gratin, or tender minced meat cutlets. Served alongside a daily soup, bread or rice, and coffee or tea, the meal offers a complete, unhurried progression from start to finish.
Those craving hearty beef can turn to sirloin steaks seared over high heat or combination plates that pair sliced Japanese Black Wagyu with classic Western sides. The Japanese offerings are equally considered, including tonkatsu sets made with finely textured Kagoshima Kurobuta pork, a generous seafood and vegetable tenju tempura rice box, and sets matching Japanese Black Wagyu steak with freshly fried tempura and chawanmushi savory egg custard. The sheer breadth of the menu ensures that dining companions and families can each order what they truly want.
For an afternoon break between shopping trips or an easy finish to a meal, the kitchen serves comforting desserts like warm baked apple topped with vanilla ice cream, pleasantly bitter coffee jelly, and shiratama zenzai. Generously spaced tables and available high chairs make the dining room comfortable for solo diners and families with young children alike, accompanied by attentive table service in a calm setting.
